Blist's Hill Victorian Town - Ironbridge

French - Victorians enjoying Englsh traditional  Fish and Chips cooked in dripping.

I will explain why they were there.

Our eldest son lives in France. He plays in an amateur Wind Orchestra 'Le Reveil Sablonnias-Serierois' from the Rhone Valley in France. A large number of the Band 37 plus some  family came over to the Midlands this August to see where John originated from. They played free concerts at Trentham Gardens, our own Village of Oulton, Blists Hill (  a SC meet venue) where they were asked to dress up Victorian style for the event. The final Concert was at Ingestre Hall near Shugborough ( Yet another SC past meet venue).

In this short  series I will endeavour show some of their escapades.

I recorded many tracks of their perfomances and put them on my Youtube Channel

Oh yes! The serious business of Fish'n'chips.
Martin from Stone: More important these were cooked in the traditional way in Beef Dripping not in questionable quality vegetable oil as is now the norm, you can taste the difference
I remember the fish & chips at Blist ! A nice shot Martin.
Martin from Stone: There and the Black Country Museum memorable 'good old days' taste
Isn't that wonderful! I'm glad you could show them the English way!
Martin from Stone: They entered into the spirit of the event and appeared to be having a great time.

Fish and Chips cooked in dripping must be better than garden snails in roquefort cheese sauce. They do play nice music and some of them even look English (whatever that may mean smile)

That son, will he be repatriated, post-Brexit?
Martin from Stone: No chance he has had the foresight to apply for and be granted dual nationality
YAY for meetups, Martin, right??!! Because you didn't mention it, do I assume your son is NOT in this image?? smile
Martin from Stone: No not here ,perhaps in a later shot
Great shot, I see they tucked into the Fish and Chips. I've subscribed to you Youtube chaneel and will watch all the videos later on, I certainyl enjoyed the first one.
Martin from Stone: I did get a bit carried away Brian, the trouble is you never know what is coming next - so I recorded the lot pretty well. I must say I find video at least as interesting as stills for some of the record work I do.

a nice company, finely dressed up, and they seem to enjoy their Fish and Chips!
Martin from Stone: The people at the Museum wanted to know people's sizes in advance in order to find well fitting Victorian costumes for them all.
they look like they are a fun group of people from France who had to try some English fish and chips Martin... it's a good picture of them....petersmile
Martin from Stone: They really enjoyed them

No, no, no; to be really traditional then the chips should be served in newspaper smile Shame I missed that SC get together.
Martin from Stone: I take the point but bear in mind that currently newspapers are plastered in Brexit rubbish, enough to dent anyone's appetite.
